Elon Musk Rejected Nobel Peace Prize, Gaining Double the Praise
Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for his work supporting freedom of speech, but he has rejected the honor. Musk wrote on social media platform X, "I don't want any awards."
Earlier, European Parliament member Branko Grimš shared that Musk's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize had been submitted to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. He explained that the nomination was a recognition of Musk's contributions to establishing fundamental human rights, such as freedom of speech and peace.
Grimš also shared a screenshot of the confirmation email from the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which read, "Your nomination for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been successfully submitted." He expressed gratitude to the co-nominators and everyone involved in the nomination process.
However, Elon Musk made it clear on X that he does not seek any recognition for his work. He stated, "I don't want any awards."
Grimš, in his post on X, mentioned, "The nomination for Mr. Elon Musk to receive the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for his continued support of fundamental human rights such as freedom of speech and peace has been successfully submitted today. A sincere thank you to all the co-nominators and participants in this challenging project."
Despite rejecting the award, Elon Musk is being praised even more for his stance.
