The public in the West Bank’s Ramallah celebrated the release of 200 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. The BBC's Jon Donnison reported from Ramallah that locals welcomed the freed prisoners with enthusiastic crowds.

The Israeli Prison Service confirmed that all 200 Palestinian prisoners were released by Saturday. They stated, "Following the completion of necessary procedures in the prisons and approval by political authorities, all prisoners were released from Ofer and Ktziot prisons."

This marks the second prisoner exchange under the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Earlier, Hamas had released four female Israeli soldiers and handed them over to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Palestine Square, Gaza City.

Under this agreement, Israel released 200 Palestinian prisoners by Saturday. This exchange represents a significant step under the recent agreement to halt the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
