Canada's Energy Industry Will Help America Enter a "Golden Age" - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a 25% tariff imposition, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated, "Canada's energy is extremely important for America's industry, business, and households."

Speaking to reporters this morning, Trudeau referenced Trump's inauguration speech, where Trump promised that America would enter a "golden age."

He said, "For that, steel, aluminum, critical minerals, and energy are needed. And Canada has all these resources."

Although Trump has expressed plans to impose tariffs starting February 1, it is not certain whether he will actually implement them. On the same day, he signed a presidential memo instructing his officials to review U.S. trade relations.

In this regard, Trudeau said, "If he proceeds with imposing tariffs, Canada will respond – and everything is on the table."
