Arrest Warrant Issued Against World’s Best All-Rounder Shakib Al Hasan by Dhaka Court
Dhaka, January 19 – An arrest warrant has been issued against world-renowned all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan by a Dhaka court. The warrant pertains to a case filed by IFIC Bank for ‘check dishonor,’ where Shakib Al Hasan and another individual have been accused.
A bank officer filed the case in December, following which the court had ordered them to appear on January 18. However, as they failed to appear in court, an arrest warrant was issued today (January 19).
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan has not returned to the country since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government on August 5. He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Magura as a candidate of the Awami League.
Shakib Al Hasan became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to top the ICC’s ODI all-rounder ranking, and he is considered by many as the greatest Bangladeshi cricketer of all time. However, he has been involved in numerous controversies. He has faced criticism both on and off the field for his behavior, as well as for his involvement in controversial business ventures.
Now, it remains to be seen what impact this IFIC Bank case will have on Shakib’s career.
