Washington, January 18, 2025: On Saturday, thousands of protesters, mostly women, gathered in Washington ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration. Many of them wore the pink hats that were symbolic of the much larger protests during his first inauguration in 2017.
As part of the "People's March," protesters assembled at Franklin Park, where they rallied in support of gender equality and bodily autonomy. The rally began under light rain and concluded at the Lincoln Memorial, located in the city's downtown area.
In addition to Franklin Park, protesters gathered at two other parks, with one group discussing democracy and immigration issues, and another focusing on local Washington concerns.
