Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was seriously injured early Thursday morning at his Mumbai residence when he was attacked by an intruder. He was quickly admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery for six stab wounds to his spine and neck. His condition is currently stable.

At the time of the incident, Saif's wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their two children, Taimur (7) and Jeh (3), were also present at the house but were unharmed.

Kareena Kapoor Khan issued a statement on social media, requesting space from the media and photographers, saying, “This is an incredibly difficult time for our family. We are still trying to process this terrifying event. I respectfully request that you help protect our privacy during this sensitive period.”

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali told the media, “It is very unfortunate to hear about the incident. His injuries are not severe, and I pray that he recovers soon.”

Debate on Mumbai's Security The incident has sparked widespread discussion about Mumbai's law and order situation. Actress Pooja Bhatt said, “Even areas like Bandra now feel unsafe. Can Mumbai Police curb this lawlessness?”

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “The attack on Saif Ali Khan is deeply concerning. I hope the law will take its course, and the perpetrators will be held accountable. My prayers are with his family.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis defended Mumbai, stating, “This is a serious incident, but it is wrong to label Mumbai as unsafe.”
