Washington, January 18, 2025 - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has announced that his inauguration ceremony on Monday will be held indoors. Due to extreme cold, the event has been moved from the historic West Front to inside the Capitol building.

For the first time in 40 years, a U.S. presidential inauguration will be held indoors. This decision was made due to the dangerously low temperatures forecasted for Monday in Washington.

President-elect Trump said, "We made this change considering the safety of our guests." A large number of invited guests and dignitaries are expected to attend Monday's inauguration.

It is believed that this decision will also bring changes to the traditional inaugural parade and other outdoor activities.

Notably, in 1985, President Ronald Reagan's second-term inauguration was also moved indoors due to severe cold.
