New Campaign by Pakistan Army Against Imran Khan: The Mystery of the 'Beltway Grid' Think Tank

The Pakistan Army has created a fake think tank in the United States with the aim of criticizing former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), as well as enhancing the military's own image. This information was recently revealed in a report.

The report states that the think tank, named "Beltway Grid Policy Center," exists only on the internet, and it has no real employees or office. The news portal Drop Site News claims that the think tank has no actual staff or physical office, making it a completely fake organization.

This comes at a time when the Pakistani government is spending millions of rupees on internet information management and combating fake news. According to Indian media outlet India Today, the Pakistan Army's information wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), is overseeing this initiative, with approval from Army Chief General Asim Munir.

How the Fake Think Tank Was Exposed

The Beltway Grid website may appear to be a typical think tank at first glance. Its content primarily focuses on South Asia and Pakistan. However, when searching for information about its staff, no real connections can be found. Drop Site News claims that the site is operated without any real employees or office, suggesting it is an operation run by the Pakistan Army to influence public opinion in the United States against Imran Khan.

Last month, Beltway Grid published a report titled "Democracy Under Siege: Economic Fallout and Diplomatic Implications of Protests in Pakistan," claiming that the November 2024 protests by PTI caused the depreciation of Pakistan's currency and a loss of 3 trillion rupees. Drop Site News reports that the figures in the report are similar to an internal report from the Pakistan Army, further supporting the theory that the think tank is a military operation.

Additionally, the lack of any launch events or physical gatherings when the think tank started its operations raises further suspicion, as think tanks usually hold such events to expand their reach and establish connections.
