Washington, January 8, 2025 – U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has planned a world tour during her final week in office, which will include visits to Singapore, Bahrain, and Germany. The trip, scheduled from January 13 to January 17, will be an opportunity for Harris to address U.S. foreign policy challenges before Donald Trump assumes office.

During the trip, she will be accompanied by her second gentleman, Doug Emhoff. Although she has not disclosed her next steps, the extensive travel suggests that Harris may have an intention to continue playing a role on the global stage. There is also speculation about her potential candidacy for governor of California.

Dean Lieberman, Harris' Deputy National Security Advisor, stated in a written statement, "The Vice President wants to spend some of her final days in office visiting U.S. servicemembers deployed overseas, which, as she has mentioned, has been one of her greatest honors as Vice President."

Harris plans to visit Changi Naval Base in Singapore and meet with Singaporean leaders. Singapore’s location in the Indo-Pacific region is crucial for discussions on international matters, including issues related to China. Afterward, she will visit Bahrain, where she will tour the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters, which plays a significant role in protecting against Iranian attacks and safeguarding shipping activities from Houthi forces in Yemen.

Harris’ final destination will be Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany, where U.S. Air Force fighter jets are stationed. She will discuss the importance of NATO, which plays a key role in deterring Russian aggression.

Lieberman further said, "The Vice President continues to believe in a strong U.S. global leadership role because it benefits the security and prosperity of the American people."
