Israeli forces raided the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza on Friday, alleging it was being used as a Hamas command center. The operation resulted in the arrest of over 240 Palestinians, including the hospital director and several medical staff.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that the hospital's director, Hussam Abu Safiya, was detained during the raid. Some medical staff, who were later released, claimed that Abu Safiya was physically assaulted by Israeli soldiers during the operation.

In a statement, the Israeli military said, "The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and ISA (Security Agency) jointly carried out a targeted operation against a Hamas command center at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, detaining over 240 terrorists from the area. The hospital director, Hussam Abu Safiya, suspected of involvement in Hamas terrorist activities, has been taken for questioning."

The Gaza Health Ministry dismissed these claims as "false" and "baseless propaganda." The ministry stated that the raid disrupted routine medical services at the hospital and constituted a violation of international human rights laws.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry also reported that 18 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Friday across the enclave.
