It is being said that this achievement poses a significant threat to Israel and the United States in the Middle East. According to media reports, a new Iranian drone carrier warship has recently been spotted off the coast of Bandar Abbas, Iran's naval base in the Persian Gulf. The warship was previously a cargo container ship. The country has launched a warship solely for drones into the sea. Although Tehran did not publicly announce this development, satellite imagery from Maxar has captured the scenes. Iran has built three such warships. The first is named Shahid Bagheri, the second is Shahid Roudaki, and the third is Shahid Mahdavi. Satellite images show all three ships visible in the Persian Gulf.
Shahid Bagheri is being referred to as a "forward base ship." This alone demonstrates how advanced Iran has become in terms of technology. The warship features a special angle from which drones can secretly take off. Its runway is very short, designed specifically for drones. The deck also includes a ski-jump, resembling an aircraft carrier, but the short runway suggests it is intended exclusively for drones and helicopters. With these new drone carrier warships, the Iranian Navy has advanced further in unmanned aerial warfare.
Various sources reveal that this warship was launched from the Iran Shipyard and Offshore Industries shipyard in late November this year and has since been navigating the sea, possibly undergoing trials. Despite years of Western sanctions, Iran has developed its own armed drone fleet. These drones have spread across various battlefields in the region and even into Europe. Russia has extensively used Iran's Shahed drones against Ukraine.
