Preparation for the 13th National Parliamentary Elections Enters Final Stage: Special Campaign by BNP in Dhaka-17

Dhaka-17 stands out compared to other constituencies. It encompasses areas such as Cantonment, DGFI Headquarters, and residential neighborhoods like Gulshan, Banani, and Baridhara, which host the offices and residences of the international diplomatic community. Additionally, the constituency includes significant corporate offices and private residences of Bangladesh’s business leaders. In particular, many residents of Baridhara Diplomatic Zone prefer not to appear directly in electoral discussions.

For these reasons, BNP has adopted a strategic approach in its election campaign. Instead of publishing photos or videos of voters, the party has focused on direct local initiatives and outreach to engage with constituents.

The campaign in Dhaka-17 is being led by M. Saeed Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Italy-Bangladesh Trade Promotion Center (IBTPC) and former student leader. He is accompanied by BNP leaders including Mirza Aslam Ali, former Joint Organizational Secretary of BNP Jubo Dal Central Committee; Mir Zulfikar Ali; former student leader Saifur Rahman; Swapon Hossain; and several others.

Additionally, Mohammad Asaduzzaman Nayon and Humayun Karib Himu have joined the campaign from London to support BNP’s election efforts in this constituency.

Given the constituency’s political significance and the presence of diplomatic and corporate communities, every step of the campaign is being carried out with careful planning and sensitivity.
