Arab and Muslim World in One Voice – Doha Summit to Resist Israeli Aggression

Leaders of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) gathered in Doha on Monday in a rare show of unity, vowing to resist Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza. The summit, convened at the call of Qatar, came amid mounting criticism of Israel’s recent strike in Doha that killed six people, including Hamas negotiators, in what Qatar described as a deliberate attempt to sabotage peace talks.

Emir of Qatar’s Strong Rebuke

In his opening remarks, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani accused Israel of undermining negotiations while using the conflict as cover for its expansionist ambitions.

“Whoever works diligently and systematically to assassinate the party with whom he is negotiating, intends to thwart the negotiations. For them, negotiations are merely part of the war,” Sheikh Tamim said.

He added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “dreams of turning the Arab region into an Israeli sphere of influence — a dangerous illusion.”

The emir further charged that Israel’s government is exploiting the war in Gaza to expand illegal settlements and alter the status quo in occupied territories.

“If Israel’s goal is to assassinate Hamas leaders, why then is it negotiating with them? If they insist on the liberation of hostages, why are they killing the negotiators?”

Calling Israel “cowardly and treacherous,” Sheikh Tamim declared there was “no room to deal with such a party.” He described Israel’s actions in Gaza as nothing less than “genocide.”

Aftermath of the Strike

Hamas officials confirmed that their top leaders survived last week’s Israeli airstrike in Doha, though six people were killed. The attack triggered widespread international criticism, including rare condemnation from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Joint Declaration of the Summit

The Arab League and OIC issued a joint communiqué calling on member states to:

  • Take all possible legal and practical measures to halt Israel’s actions against Palestinians,

  • Review diplomatic and economic ties with Israel,

  • Launch initiatives to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations.

The declaration reaffirmed unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, firmly rejecting forced displacement, settlement expansion, and attempts to impose a new fait accompli in the Occupied Territories.

Call for Humanitarian Action

The summit also urged immediate humanitarian assistance to Gaza, reconstruction of war-ravaged areas, and accountability for what it termed war crimes — including the siege and starvation of civilians.
