[Tehran, July 23, 2025] – The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey have jointly called for immediate and coordinated action by Islamic countries to stop the genocidal crimes committed by Israeli occupying forces in Gaza.
In a phone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan—whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)—issued this appeal.
During the discussion, the two ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations, recent regional and international developments, and matters of mutual interest.
They expressed deep concern, in particular, over the escalating attacks by Israeli occupying forces on unarmed civilians in Gaza and the ongoing military aggression in Syria.
Iran’s Foreign Minister strongly condemned the crimes and increasing acts of genocide being carried out by the Israeli occupying forces in Gaza. He stated that by deliberately cutting off access to water and food for Palestinians, Israel is clearly committing crimes against humanity.
He further emphasized that urgent and effective action by Islamic nations is now necessary to stop this genocide. He called for an emergency Islamic summit (OIC) to be convened immediately and stressed the need to activate regional consultation mechanisms.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also condemned the aggression and crimes of the Israeli occupying forces in Gaza and Syria, underlining the urgent need for swift and coordinated action among Islamic countries. He stated that unified action must be taken now to stop the criminal acts of the Israeli occupying regime.
