Iran’s state media has confirmed that General Ali Shadmani, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command center, has died from critical injuries sustained during a recent Israeli military strike.

General Shadmani served as the wartime Chief of Staff and was one of the top-ranking figures within Iran’s military hierarchy. His death is being viewed as a major blow amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel.

According to Iranian state television and news agencies,
“General Shadmani died while receiving treatment at a military hospital in Tehran following his injuries.”

Though the exact location and timing of the attack were not disclosed, it is believed to be linked to the same Israeli strike carried out on June 17, when the Israeli military claimed to have successfully targeted and killed “Iran’s top wartime military strategist.”

State sources also reported:
“The Revolutionary Guard Corps is preparing for a harsh response to avenge Shadmani’s martyrdom.”

Iran’s political and military leadership has expressed deep sorrow over General Shadmani’s death, calling it “a brutal chapter in Israeli terrorism.”

Analysts describe General Shadmani as a key architect of both Iran’s nuclear strategy and regional defense doctrine. His death is expected to have significant ramifications not only on Iran’s internal security but also on the broader geopolitical balance in the Middle East.

In Tehran, thousands of people have already taken to the streets in protest, demanding a strong retaliatory response against Israel. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared Shadmani a “martyr,” stating in an official message:
“His blood will not be shed in vain. A harsh response is coming.”
