Joe Biden Had Prostate Cancer Even Before Becoming President – Says Medical Advisor Ezekiel Emanuel
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, former COVID advisor to former President Joe Biden and architect of Obamacare, said on Monday that Biden likely had cancer from the beginning of his presidency—if not earlier.
On Sunday, Biden’s office confirmed in a statement that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, describing it as an “aggressive type” with a “Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5),” and that the cancer had spread to his bones.
Based on the advanced stage of the cancer, oncologist Emanuel said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe that Biden was likely suffering from it “for many years.”
Host Joe Scarborough interrupted and asked, “So this isn’t speculation? You’re saying if prostate cancer has spread to the bones, then it definitely existed while he was President?”
Emanuel replied, “Oh yes. This didn’t happen in the last 100 or 200 days. It was already there when he was President—probably even at the very start in 2021, when he took office. I don’t think anyone would dispute that.”
Scarborough pointed out that many men over 70 choose not to get prostate screening, but added, “Most of those men, however, are not President of the United States.”
Emanuel said it’s usually a matter of discussion between a patient and their doctor, but in the case of a sitting president, it’s certainly a matter of public concern.
He said, “President Obama got this test. President Bush got it too. It’s a bit surprising that Biden’s doctor didn’t do the same. And if they did test and didn’t report it—and the score was high—then that would again be an example of doctors not being honest with us. We saw many such cases during President Trump’s COVID diagnosis—and if that’s what happened again, it’s extremely troubling.”
He added that while missing a cancer diagnosis at this stage is possible, it’s “highly unusual.”
Emanuel concluded, “Either they didn’t test him, or they did and didn’t report the results. And as citizens, we never got that information.”
