Biden Himself Disrupted the Biden-Harris Campaign—Harris's Dream Became a Nightmare Because of Him: “All Biden’s Fault,” Says David Plouffe, Blaming the Former President for Democrats’ 2024 Loss

A top Democratic strategist has claimed that former U.S. President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign destroyed Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances of defeating President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

David Plouffe, campaign manager for President Barack Obama in 2008 and a senior advisor to Harris’s 2024 campaign, lays out in his new book “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” just how damaging Biden’s decision to run again was for the Democratic Party.

Quoting CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson, Plouffe writes in the book:

“It’s all Biden’s fault.”
He highlights how Biden stayed in the race far too long and how the White House tried to prove he was still electable, adding:
“He completely destroyed us.”

As a result, Plouffe says Harris’s short campaign against Trump became “a horrific nightmare,” and he places full blame on Biden.

Plouffe is not alone in believing that Biden’s decision to run again weakened the Democratic Party—especially as his mental acuity had clearly begun to decline starting in 2023.

In the book, a senior White House aide says:
“We even tried to shield him from his own staff so that people wouldn’t realize just how sharp the decline had become since 2023.”

This aide, who later left the White House because they did not believe Biden should have run again in 2024, added:
“I love Joe Biden. There are very few people in politics as honest as he is.”
“Still, allowing him to run again—by his family and advisers—was a grave injustice to the country and the party.”

Spokespersons for both Biden and Harris did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The book “Original Sin” offers a detailed account of the events surrounding the 2024 election and how Biden’s team actively worked to hide his mental weaknesses.

Additionally, in another book titled “Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History,” it’s revealed how the White House even kept Biden isolated from friends and allies.

That book’s author, former CBS 60 Minutes producer Chris Whipple, notes:
“One White House aide said isolating Biden from the world was a terrible mistake.”
He further stated:
“They feared he might say something wrong or fuel rumors about his mental capacity, so they started keeping him away from people. But that only dulled his intellectual edge further. I believe, like a knife, people need sharpening. And a knife never gets sharper sitting in a drawer.”
