At least 71 Khariji militants have been killed in a series of counterterrorism operations conducted by security forces over the past three days in Pakistan's North Waziristan District (NWD), according to a statement released Monday by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.

“At Least 71 Militants Killed in Three Days of Counterterrorism Operations” – Pakistan Army

Rawalpindi, April 28, 2025 (ISPR) – At least 71 Khariji militants have been killed in a series of counterterrorism operations conducted by security forces over the past three days in Pakistan's North Waziristan District (NWD), according to a statement released Monday by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.

Following the killing of 54 armed militants in operations conducted from April 25 to 27, a well-coordinated raid was carried out overnight from April 27 to the early hours of April 28 near Hassan Khel, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. ISPR stated that an additional 17 militants were killed in this operation and described them as being “operating under Indian sponsorship.”

The statement further noted that a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the militants during the operations.

According to the ISPR, “The total number of Khariji militants neutralized in these three days of counterterrorism operations has reached 71. The security forces remain fully prepared to counter any attempt to disrupt Pakistan’s peace, stability, and progress.”

Military sources also indicated that security in the border areas has been further strengthened in connection with the operation.
