Sudanese Army Fully Recaptures Khartoum Airport, Expels RSF
Khartoum: The Sudanese army has recaptured Khartoum Airport from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and has declared it “completely secure,” according to a military source.
On Wednesday, the army also surrounded the areas adjacent to the airport, marking a significant development in the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese military and the RSF in the capital, Khartoum.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan, reporting from Khartoum, stated, “This is a major success achieved by the Sudanese army in the past few hours.”
Since April 2023, the Sudanese army has been engaged in a war against the RSF. This week, the military launched an operation to expel the paramilitary forces from central Khartoum. This move follows a key victory last Friday when the army successfully recaptured the Presidential Palace.
