Beirut, February 23, 2025: A historic gathering took place today at the Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium in Beirut, where millions of people gathered to mourn the death of Hezbollah's slain leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Thousands of supporters came together to pay their respects to Nasrallah and other slain leaders of the group.

Nasrallah, who led Hezbollah for 20 years in its long-standing conflict with Israeli forces, was killed in an Israeli airstrike last year. Since his death, Hezbollah has suffered significant losses, with many of its leaders also being killed. At the funeral, supporters carried pictures of Nasrallah and Hezbollah flags.

The mass gathering saw the participation of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Shiite politicians from Iraq, and a delegation from Yemen's Houthis. The ceremony was also attended by supporters of Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, another slain Hezbollah leader.

The death of Nasrallah marked a pivotal moment for Hezbollah, leading to the loss of key territories in southern Lebanon and a wave of destruction in Hezbollah’s strongholds. This loss was compounded by Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanese regions.

Additionally, Safieddine, who had briefly taken the helm of Hezbollah after Nasrallah's death, was also killed in an Israeli strike before officially succeeding Nasrallah.

Though Nasrallah’s formal funeral was delayed to allow for Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon under a ceasefire, the mass gathering today proved that the spirit of resistance remains intact.

This funeral marked a significant day for Hezbollah and its allies, showcasing the enduring value of resistance and solidarity despite the loss of their leaders.
