Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Shibani Meets with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed

Dubai, January 7 – UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, where they discussed further strengthening the "brotherly" ties between the two countries. This meeting took place during the first official visit of Syria's Foreign Minister to the UAE, as reported by the UAE state news agency WAM.

The discussion also covered the current situation in Syria and the overall developments in the country since former President Bashar al-Assad was ousted by rebels on December 8.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reiterated the UAE's support for Syria's independence and sovereignty, according to WAM.
