New York, January 3: A federal judge in New York will hold a hearing on Friday to consider contempt charges against Rudy Giuliani, after two Georgia election workers claimed that Giuliani failed to pay the $148 million defamation damages they were awarded.

The two workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss, filed a lawsuit against Giuliani in 2021, accusing him of defaming them by falsely claiming that they helped steal votes for Joe Biden in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

Giuliani was ordered by the court to provide assets to cover the damages, but he has refused to comply. As a result, the election workers have asked the court to hold him in contempt. If the court finds him guilty of contempt, it could further damage Giuliani's reputation.
