New York: A shooting occurred outside the Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, Queens, New York, at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, targeting people waiting to enter a private event. According to the New York Police Department, ten people, including six women and four men, were injured in the incident.

The police reported that approximately 15 young people, aged 16 to 20, were waiting outside the nightclub when a group of four men approached them on foot. Three or four of them then opened fire on the group.

New York Police Department Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera stated at an early Thursday news conference that the gunmen fired approximately 30 shots before fleeing the scene on foot. They were later seen getting into a sedan with out-of-state plates.

Rivera added, "We have zero tolerance for such senseless violence."

The ten injured individuals were taken to hospitals, and none of their injuries were life-threatening.

Videos of the incident have spread on social media, showing a large police presence and several ambulances outside the nightclub.

The motive for the shooting is not immediately clear, but Rivera confirmed that it was not a terrorist attack.

The police have begun investigating the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
