In a statement, AIIMS said, "Dr. Manmohan Singh was admitted to the hospital on December 26, 2024, for treatment of age-related health issues. On the same day, he lost consciousness at home and was rushed to the hospital. However, despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead."
Dr. Manmohan Singh is known for transforming India's economy into a free-market system and served as Prime Minister for two consecutive terms. He was also the Governor of India's central bank and played a pivotal role as an economist in shaping the country's economic policies.
