Manchester City continued their recent poor form, drawing 1-1 with Everton. In Thursday's Boxing Day match, City took the lead early but were forced to settle for just one point in the end.
In the 14th minute, Bernardo Silva scored the first goal for City. Jeremy Doku made a brilliant pass, creating an opportunity for Silva, who slotted the ball into the net from a tight angle. However, in the 36th minute, Iliman Ndiaye equalized for Everton. Ndiaye controlled the ball and sent it to City's goalpost, which the City's defenders failed to stop.
In the second half, City had a chance to win the match when Seamus Coleman fouled Savinho, resulting in a penalty. However, City's star player Erling Haaland's shot was saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a dive. Haaland's rebound goal was disallowed due to an offside call.
Everton displayed strong defense against City's attack, despite having very little possession. City took 24 shots in total, with only 5 on target.
So far, Manchester City sits in sixth place with just one point, 11 points behind Liverpool, who have played two fewer matches
