Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree announced that two "military operations" had been carried out against Israel.

In a televised speech, Saree stated that the Houthi forces had launched a drone strike on a military target in the Ashkelon region, which "successfully achieved its objective."

He also mentioned that the Houthi forces had fired another drone at an area near Tel Aviv.

The purpose of the attacks, he said, was to respond to the "genocide being carried out against our brothers in Gaza."

Earlier, the Israeli military reported that its air defense system had tracked and destroyed a Houthi drone.

It was claimed that the explosives-laden drone was destroyed before entering Israeli territory, and no air raid alerts were issued.
