Dream of Going to America Shattered: 230 Indians Detained for Illegal Entry Attempts, Over 18,000 Listed as Undocumented Immigrants

In pursuit of a better lifestyle and high-paying jobs, 230 Indians attempted to reach America. However, their dreams were interrupted when they were detained in Sharjah. These individuals lost nearly 30 million rupees trying to migrate illegally through human traffickers.

According to the Indian news outlet Hindustan Times, the traffickers did not clearly disclose the route they would use to smuggle these individuals to America. However, they promised that the journey would be completed before Donald Trump’s return to power.

The newly elected U.S. President, Donald Trump, has already pledged during his campaign to deport undocumented immigrants. Reports suggest that his administration plans to deport around 1.5 million undocumented immigrants in its initial phase.

List of Undocumented Immigrants Prepared

As reported by The Times of India, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has already compiled a list of 1.5 million undocumented immigrants. This list includes approximately 18,000 Indians, most of whom hail from Gujarat, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh.

If everything goes as planned, Donald Trump will assume office on January 20 next year. His administration’s first step will be implementing strict immigration policies and deporting the undocumented immigrants listed back to their respective countries.

A Real-Life Reflection of “Dunki”

The incident in Sharjah closely mirrors the storyline of the Bollywood movie Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu, which portrays the perilous journey of individuals attempting to migrate abroad illegally in search of a better life.

Having fallen prey to the traffickers' schemes, these Indians now face financial losses and legal troubles.

Experts emphasize that attempts to migrate illegally are not only risky but often lead to tragic consequences. They advocate for increased public awareness to prevent such fraud and exploitation.
