Iranian Army Chief Declares Armed Forces Ready to Face Any Threat
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces, has affirmed that Iran’s military is always prepared to counter any form of threat. His remarks came on Monday in Tehran, a day after the armed group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) seized control of Syria's capital, Damascus.
Speaking at the Army University of Command and Staff, General Mousavi stated, "The Iranian armed forces maintain a state of constant readiness to confront any potential threats." He reassured the nation of the military’s high-level preparedness, emphasizing that this readiness is unwavering.
General Mousavi further underscored that Iran's national security is not solely reliant on its armed forces. “Iran is unique as a country where the entire population safeguards its national aspirations, and the military fulfills its responsibilities with diligence,” he remarked.
Iranian officials have consistently maintained that the country is committed to strengthening its military capabilities, including its missile program. Iran has made it clear that it will not hesitate to bolster its defense systems and is unwilling to engage in negotiations over its military capabilities.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has repeatedly urged the enhancement of the country’s armed forces, calling for increased military strength to safeguard national security.
