After a short visit to Syria, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in the Turkish capital Ankara yesterday (Monday) with a delegation. There, he met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. During the meeting, Araqchi said that regional countries have common concerns about the situation in Syria, especially the resurgence of extremist Takfiri terrorists in the northwest of the country. He called for strengthening cooperation between Middle Eastern countries, especially Iran and Syria, to protect regional stability and security in this situation.

Iran's top diplomat stressed that the US-backed Zionist Israel is taking advantage of the ongoing sensitive situation in West Asia. He made it clear that the recent violence that terrorist groups have launched in Syria and have created instability and insecurity within the country is related to achieving the goals of Zionist Israel.
Referring to Israel's repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon, Abbas Araqchi said that all Muslim and regional countries should play an effective and responsible role in stopping the Zionist Israel's aggression.
In his meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister, the Iranian Foreign Minister also said that Iran and Turkey are committed to strengthening mutual relations and that the ninth summit of the Cooperation Council between the two countries will be held in early 2025.
In the meeting, the Turkish Foreign Minister expressed his firm determination to strengthen cooperation with Iran in various fields, especially in the economic, political, cultural and security sectors. At the same time, he also spoke about the fight against terrorism. Hakan Fidan expressed concern about the ongoing insecurity and instability in Syria and warned regional countries about the possible disastrous consequences.
