Iran's President Calls on Muslim Countries to Step Up in Syria Crisis

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Muslim countries to intervene in the ongoing conflict in Syria and prevent the United States and Israel from exploiting the situation. Speaking at a session of the Iranian Parliament on Sunday, Pezeshkian emphasized the need to resist the attempts of these foreign powers to manipulate the internal affairs of Syria following the resurgence of Takfiri terrorists.

He expressed concern over the continuing clashes between Syria's military and foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists in Aleppo, Idlib, and other northwestern provinces. Pezeshkian stressed that the situation must not be used by the US or Israel to further their agenda. "We hope that Muslim countries will intervene and prevent the US and Israel from taking advantage of Syria's internal conflict," he stated.

Pezeshkian also pointed out that the attacks by Takfiri terrorists have received support from the US and European nations, with these groups being armed and financed by the West. Since Wednesday, the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies have entered the Aleppo region, seizing territory and clashing fiercely with Syrian government forces. The Syrian military, with the support of Russian airstrikes, is countering these groups.

The Syrian conflict, which has been ongoing since March 2011, has caused massive destruction, with Damascus accusing Western powers and their regional allies of supporting the terrorist groups wreaking havoc in the country.

Condemnation of Israeli Aggression in Gaza and Lebanon

Pezeshkian also condemned the actions of Israel, particularly in Gaza and southern Lebanon. He criticized the West's hypocrisy, noting that while Western nations claim to support peace and human rights, they remain silent in the face of Israeli military actions that have killed thousands of children in Gaza and Lebanon.

"The situation in Gaza and Lebanon is a result of the support and arms supplied by the US and European countries," he added. Pezeshkian called on Muslim nations worldwide to unite in support of Syria and Palestine, stressing the importance of standing together to confront the challenges faced by Islamic countries.
