After initially falling behind against Ding Liren, Gukesh made an impressive recovery to hold the Chinese Grandmaster to a draw. With this result, the two players remain tied, with two draws and one win each so far.
In this best-of-14 games series, the first player to reach 7.5 points will be crowned the World Chess Champion.
While Game 4 on Friday stretched to 42 moves, Saturday's encounter was decided after 40 moves, marking a dramatic conclusion. The 18-year-old Indian Grandmaster, Gukesh, has now secured one victory, one loss, and one draw in the World Championship, having played with the white pieces.
