Israel’s Ben-Gvir calls for killing ‘30 to 40’ people in Gaza nightly
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for killing “30 to 40” people in Gaza every night, while criticizing Israel’s recent reduction in strikes on the enclave.
Speaking on a podcast with former hostage Rom Braslavski, Ben-Gvir said Israel should expand targeted killings beyond individuals who pose an immediate threat.
“There are people there who are not worthy of life,” he said. “They shouldn’t live.”
Ben-Gvir, who oversees Israel’s police and prison system but does not control the military, also renewed his call for Palestinians to leave Gaza and for Israeli settlements to be reestablished there.
“It’s no secret that I disagree with the prime minister,” he said. “I think targeted assassinations should be carried out in Gaza, taking down 30 to 40 every night. Not just those who pose an immediate threat — there are people there who are not worthy of life. They shouldn’t live. They’re not even people.”
The remarks come as the Trump administration promotes a Gaza peace plan calling for an end to military operations, Hamas’ disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal from the enclave.
“I see all of Gaza as ours,” Ben-Gvir said in the interview. “Settlements not just in Gush Katif but throughout Gaza, encouraging as much emigration as possible, sending them to their countries, and for the terrorists, no emigration, nothing, just to kill them one by one.”
