Russia Updates Nuclear Policy: Threatens Full Retaliation Against Aggressor Alliances

The policy update comes amid reports that the U.S. has authorized Ukraine to use American-made long-range missiles to strike deep into Russian territory. Analysts believe the Kremlin's move is a direct response to this development.

The revised policy outlines the scenarios under which Russia could consider a nuclear strike. It identifies conventional threats such as missiles, drones, and other aerial vehicles. Additionally, it states that if any member of a military alliance attacks Russia, the entire alliance will be considered an aggressor.

According to TASS, nuclear weapons would only be used as a last resort to protect Russia's sovereignty when no other options remain.

The decision comes as the Russia-Ukraine war stretches into its third year, with Kyiv receiving substantial military aid from the U.S. and its Western allies. The conflict has escalated tensions between Russia and the West, marking the most severe standoff since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
