Washington, October 8 — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended a vigil held to mark one year since Hamas’s brutal October 7 attacks, showing solidarity with the families of hostages and survivors.
In his remarks, Rubio said, “The only way the world knows and sees the conditions of the 20 living hostages is through you. You are the cameras in the tunnel. You are the voice that has not allowed the world to forget. And your strength has inspired us.”
Rubio further emphasized that the resilience of the families affected by Hamas’s atrocities stands as a symbol of humanity and unwavering courage. He reaffirmed that the United States will continue to support these families and work relentlessly to ensure the release of all remaining hostages.
The event took place in Washington, D.C., attended by hundreds of families, human rights activists, and members of the international media, united in remembrance and a shared call for justice.
