[Tel Aviv, July 22, 2025] —
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi announced during a military assessment meeting on Tuesday that the war against Iran is not yet over.
Issuing a stark warning, he stated:
“Iran and its axis are under our surveillance — the operation against Iran is ongoing.”
In an official military statement, the IDF confirmed that Iran’s allied states and organizations are also being monitored, which is part of Israel’s broader strategic posture in the Middle East.
General Halevi further remarked that the ongoing battle in the Gaza Strip is “one of the most complex wars in the history of the IDF.”
He admitted, “We are paying a heavy price in this war,” but stressed,
“We will continue our operations to achieve our objectives — to free the hostages and to completely destroy Hamas.”
His remarks reflect the continued concern within Israel’s military leadership regarding Iran, and signal growing regional tensions.
Analysts believe these comments could foreshadow future military operations, especially against Iran-backed groups in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
