[Washington, July 2, 2025] — President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the "necessary conditions" to finalize a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said his representatives held a “lengthy and productive meeting” with Israeli officials that day.

Trump wrote, “Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire. During this time, we will work together with all parties toward a permanent end to the war.”

He added that mediators Qatar and Egypt will deliver this “final proposal” to Hamas.

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, Hamas will accept this agreement, because nothing better is coming — things will only get worse,” Trump said.

Earlier Tuesday morning, speaking to reporters, Trump expressed hope that a ceasefire in Gaza could be announced “next week.”

He also confirmed that he will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington next week to discuss Gaza and Iran.

“He (Netanyahu) is coming here. We’ll be discussing many important issues. Our tremendous success in Iran will be part of that conversation… and we’ll also talk about the situation in Gaza,” Trump said.
