[Tehran, June 21, 2025] — Due to the ongoing nuclear conflict with Israel and escalating security risks, the Indian government has announced the swift evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran posted on X (formerly Twitter) today, “We are evacuating all Indian nationals residing in Iran.” The embassy also announced the launch of an emergency helpline number and the creation of a Telegram channel to provide citizens with the latest updates.

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, currently over 10,700 Indian nationals reside in Iran. India will also assist in evacuating citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka upon formal government requests.

This move comes at a time when the Iran-Israel conflict has reached a new level of intensity. Recently, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a military operation named ‘Operation True Promise 3,’ targeting critical Israeli infrastructure.

In this situation, the Indian government is taking rapid steps to ensure the safety of its citizens. Analysts suggest that other countries may take similar measures due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
