French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France, along with its European allies, will offer Iran a diplomatic proposal aimed at easing the ongoing tensions and ending the conflict with Israel.

Speaking to journalists near Le Bourget, on the outskirts of Paris, Macron said,
“We need to show Iran that they must be ready to come to the negotiating table. A peaceful resolution of tensions is possible only through diplomacy.”

He explained that the diplomatic proposal is based on four main pillars, which could play a crucial role in reducing tensions in the Middle East and ensuring international security. These are:

  • Returning to zero enrichment of uranium: Under the supervision of the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, Iran should resume the path of “zero enrichment” of uranium.

  • Monitoring ballistic missile activities: Bringing Iran’s missile program under international oversight to ensure transparency.

  • Commitment to stop funding Iran-supported militias and armed groups in the Middle East.

  • Demand for the unconditional release of foreign nationals detained in Iran.

Analysts say the growing threat of war between Israel and Iran has pushed Europe to become diplomatically active, with France aiming to take on the role of mediator in this crisis.

Now, attention will focus on how Iran receives this proposal and how flexible they prove to be in upcoming talks with European countries in Geneva.
