Nationwide Protests Erupt Across Iran Against Ongoing Israeli Nuclear Strikes
Tehran, June 14, 2025 — In a powerful show of anger over Israel’s recent aggression and in conjunction with the Islamic holy occasion of Ghadir Khumm, massive nationwide demonstrations were held across Iran. The central rally in the capital, Tehran, was symbolically named “Iran: Zulfiqar of Ali”, conveying a message of resistance against Israel.
Originally scheduled as a celebration of Ghadir Khumm, Saturday’s event in Tehran—set for 4:00 PM—was transformed into a protest gathering following recent Israeli attacks that killed several top Iranian military officials and civilian victims. In response to this tragedy, organizers decided that rather than a festive celebration, the event would be a moment of mourning and a stance against occupation, inspired by the message and courage of Ghadir.
Thousands of participants chanted slogans against Israeli aggression, carried black banners and images in memory of the martyrs, and invoked the name of Ali ibn Abi Talib and his sword “Zulfiqar” as a symbolic call for resistance against the Zionist regime.
Similar mass gatherings were held not only in Tehran but also in nearly every major city across the country, including Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, and Tabriz. Protesters issued stern warnings to Israel, declaring that the blood of the martyrs will not be in vain and that the Iranian people will never bow to barbarity.
Analysts suggest that this protest movement serves not only as a diplomatic message from the Iranian government but also as a cultural and religious symbol of resistance that is drawing international attention.
