Pakistani Prime Minister Welcomes Turkey’s Solidarity in Protest of Indian Missile Strikes – Shehbaz Sharif [May 8, 2025]

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his sympathy and support following India’s missile strikes. In a social media post, Sharif referred to Erdoğan as a "brother" and thanked Turkey for standing in solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time.

Prime Minister Sharif said, “We are sincerely grateful for the prayers and sympathy of our Turkish brothers for our martyrs during this time of crisis.”

He further stated that he briefed President Erdoğan on the brave resistance and professional response of the Pakistan Armed Forces in repelling the enemy’s attacks.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized, “We will not compromise on our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are prepared to pay the highest price to defend it.”

He also acknowledged Turkey’s role in efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote peace in South Asia, expressing Pakistan’s appreciation for Ankara’s engagement.

This development has further deepened the geopolitical tensions in South Asia, where regional and international cooperation has become increasingly crucial.
