According to a report by Al Jazeera, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called on the United States to pressure Israel into withdrawing its forces from Lebanese territories it occupies and to ensure the release of Lebanese detainees.

President Aoun made this appeal during a meeting with a U.S. military delegation led by Major General Jasper Jeffers, co-chair of the Joint Committee for the implementation and monitoring of the cessation of hostilities.

Aoun stated that the Lebanese army is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities in the border areas. He informed the delegation that the army is working to recover weapons and prevent the presence of armed groups along the border.

He further emphasized that Israel continues to occupy parts of Lebanese territory, which constitutes a violation of international law. He stressed the urgent need for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from these areas.
