Gaza Ceasefire Talks Should Not Be Tied to Humanitarian Aid – Saudi Arabia

Antalya, Turkey | April 11, 2025:

In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, stated that the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza should in no way be conditioned on a ceasefire agreement.

Speaking at a summit held in Antalya, Turkey, he said:

“The international community must pressure the Israeli government to allow unrestricted access to humanitarian aid into Gaza.”

Gaza Highlighted at Arab-Islamic Summit

Prince Faisal made these remarks during the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, where leaders discussed the latest developments in Gaza and ongoing efforts to establish an immediate and lasting ceasefire.

Strong Opposition to Displacement of Palestinians

The Saudi foreign minister strongly asserted:

“We categorically reject any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from Gaza.”

He added that the relocation of Gaza residents is unacceptable under any pretext.

Praise for Egypt and Qatar's Mediation Role

Prince Faisal praised Egypt and Qatar for their roles in facilitating peace talks and ceasefire negotiations, stating that collective efforts must continue to secure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Emphasis on Human Rights and Responsibility

Summit leaders emphasized that the ongoing oppression of Palestinians must end, and urged the international community to take a more active role in ensuring their basic rights, security, and a dignified life.
