In a speech delivered in the Turkish Parliament on Thursday, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his commitment to stand by Turkey in support of justice in a world filled with uncertainty.

He said,
“In an uncertain world, we want to stand shoulder to shoulder with Turkey in support of justice and truth.”

While speaking in the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, Prabowo said,
“For us, Turkey is a continuation of the Ottoman Empire. We consider it our historic relationship.”

Reverence for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror

The 73-year-old Prabowo recalled memories from his youth in his speech, saying,
“My heroes, my icons, were Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror.”
He paid tribute to Atatürk as the founder of modern Turkey and Sultan Mehmed as a historic conqueror.

Criticism of 'Hypocritical Countries' on the Palestinian Issue

Addressing the situation in Palestine, Prabowo said,
“Many countries talk about human rights and democracy, but when women and children are being bombed in Gaza, these countries remain silent. They ignore the violation of human rights.”

Humanitarian Assistance for Palestinians

He also stated that Indonesia will provide temporary shelter for at least 1,000 injured and orphaned Palestinian children in need of medical assistance.

Official Visit to Turkey

Prabowo Subianto arrived in Turkey on an official visit on Wednesday. During his visit, he will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and also participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which begins on Friday.

It is worth noting that since October 2023, Israel's attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of nearly 51,000 people, most of whom are women and children. Gaza's infrastructure has been nearly completely destroyed, and the region has become uninhabitable.
