Islamabad: The people of Pakistan are celebrating the religious festival of Eid al-Fitr across the country with religious fervor and traditional enthusiasm. Special prayers have been offered for the country's progress and security.
The day of Eid begins with special congregational prayers at mosques and Eidgahs, where Muslims pray to Allah for the success and security of the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have called for national unity, economic revival, and support for the poor.
Call for Unity through Eid
In his Eid message, President Asif Ali Zardari extended sincere greetings to the people of the country and the Muslim world. He emphasized the importance of helping the poor to share the joy of Eid. He said, "Through Zakat, charity, and Fitrana, we should ensure that no one remains in distress during this Eid."
He described Eid as the reward for fasting and worship during the month of Ramadan. He further stated that Ramadan teaches patience, empathy, and kindness toward the poor, which should reflect in our daily lives.
Additionally, he prayed for the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, expressing hope that they would soon be able to celebrate Eid peacefully.
Prime Minister’s Message: National Unity and Economic Recovery
In his Eid message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Eid is a celebration of happiness, gratitude, brotherhood, and empathy. He urged the nation to continue following the principles of patience and sacrifice even after the end of Ramadan.
He referred to the ongoing challenges in Pakistan and called on the people to unite against extremism, sectarianism, and external threats. He said, "We must unite for the integrity and stability of the country, and no conspiracy should succeed."
Prime Minister Shehbaz also mentioned that his government is making full efforts to revive the economy and establish law and order. He paid tribute to the members of the country’s armed forces who have dedicated their lives to the fight against terrorism.
Military’s Eid Message: Tribute to National Heroes
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said, "Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, stands as a symbol of unity, empathy, and gratitude. The real essence of Eid for our soldiers lies in their courageous service to the country, as they strive to establish peace, prosperity, and unity, even while being separated from their families."
