Lebanese President Joseph Aoun Expresses Concern Over Security Situation and Calls for Resistance
Beirut, March 22: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in a statement today, condemned efforts to undermine the country's security and stability. He said, "What happened today in the south, and what has continued since February 18, represents a continuous attack on Lebanon and an attempt to disrupt the country's rescue project. The Lebanese people have united in support of this project," the statement from the Presidency read.
He urged all relevant forces operating in southern Lebanon to remain vigilant and take necessary steps to avoid escalating any tensions.
Israel Launches Operation in Southern Lebanon
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the country's military to carry out airstrikes on "terrorist" targets in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military stated that they are currently attacking Hezbollah's terrorist targets, and these operations will continue.
Israeli military spokesman Avichai Adraee said, "Currently, we are attacking Hezbollah's terrorist targets in southern Lebanon. This will continue."
Additionally, following the launch of five rockets toward northern Israel, no group has claimed responsibility. There were no casualties or damage reported from the attack, but the Israeli military has promised a "strong response" in retaliation.
These events have further increased tensions in the Middle East, making Lebanon's security situation even more complex.
