Turkey's Security Inconceivable Without It: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

March 4, 2025: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, "Europe's security is unimaginable without Turkey." He also stated that Turkey views the EU membership process as a "strategic priority" because Turkey is an "inseparable part" of Europe.

In a speech addressed to foreign ambassadors in Ankara, President Erdogan said, "It is becoming increasingly impossible for Europe to remain a global power without Turkey taking its rightful place."

Addressing Israel, Erdogan said, "Israel will not find the peace it seeks unless an independent Palestinian state is established, based on the territorial integrity of the 1967 borders."

He further stated, "Their calls for annexing the West Bank were already troubling, and now Israeli government ministers are playing with fire through provocative actions targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque." He reiterated that the historic Jerusalem mosque is a "red line" for Turkey.
