New Delhi: In response to recent cross-border firing and an IED attack along the Jammu and Kashmir border, the Indian and Pakistani armies will hold a flag meeting on Friday, sources have confirmed.
Since the renewal of the ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021, there have been fewer ceasefire violations along the Jammu and Kashmir border. However, following several recent incidents, both countries' armies have called for this meeting.
According to sources, the meeting will take place near the Line of Control (LoC) adjoining Pakistan. The meeting is being held in the context of "increased border activity" and the February 11 IED attack in the Akhnoor sector, in which two Indian soldiers, including a captain, were killed.
Additionally, two other soldiers were injured in separate incidents. Through this meeting, both countries will discuss maintaining peace along the border and preventing such incidents in the future.
