Hamas Leaders Meet with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran

Tehran, February 8, 2025 — Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met in Tehran with one of Hamas's top leaders, Khalil al-Hayya, and two other leaders, according to Iranian state TV.

Khamenei said, "You defeated the Zionist regime (Israel), which was in fact America's defeat. You did not allow them to achieve any of their goals." The Hamas leaders met with Khamenei to congratulate him on the anniversary of the 1979 Iranian Revolution. They expressed gratitude for Iran's continued support.

Iranian TV reported that the Hamas delegation included Mohammad Darwish, head of Hamas' leadership council, and senior leader Nizar Awadallah. They presented Khamenei with a report on the current situation in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the victories and successes achieved there.

"We come to meet with you today with pride," al-Hayya was quoted as saying to Khamenei.

Khamenei also stated that the threats from the U.S. against Iran "will have no effect on the mindset of our nation," according to Iranian media.
