In a horrific mass shooting on Tuesday, at least 11 people were killed, including the gunman, at an adult education center in Örebro, located about 200 kilometers west of Stockholm, Sweden. Following the attack, Swedish police stated that the death toll could rise.

Swedish authorities have not yet confirmed the motive of the attack or the number of injured. Local police chief Roberto Eid Forest told reporters, "This is an attack that has shaken our society to its core."

The education center offers primary and secondary education, language courses, and vocational training. Many students had left after finishing a national exam earlier in the day, but those who remained sought shelter in nearby buildings, and other parts of the school were evacuated.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the incident as "a horrific act of violence that has shaken the entire society." He said, "This is the deadliest mass shooting in Sweden's history."

Police confirmed that the gunman acted alone and was found dead at the scene. However, it has not been revealed whether he was a student at the school. While police raided his home, it remains unclear what, if anything, was found.

The attack has created an atmosphere of fear and concern across Sweden, with many people deeply unsettled.
