Italy Clarifies Elon Musk's Lack of Involvement in the Release of Iranian-Detained Journalist Cecilia Sala

Rome, January 17: Italy has stated that Elon Musk was not involved in any negotiations between Iran and Italy regarding the release of journalist Cecilia Sala, who was detained in Iran. The Italian Foreign Minister made this statement on Friday, dismissing media reports that claimed the American billionaire was part of the talks.

Italian journalist Cecilia Sala returned home last week after being detained in Tehran during a reporting trip last month. Following her release, Italy freed an Iranian businessman who had been arrested in Milan based on a U.S. arrest warrant, a few days before Sala was imprisoned.

Italy has clarified that there were no secret negotiations between the Italian and Iranian governments, nor was there any involvement from external individuals in the process.
